Well, here I am. Previously been a Range rover owner (4.0 P38, then an early TD6 vogue), and, after a bit of time away, I'm contemplating returning.

[Stan you made it look like I was recommending the TD6 by deleting my partial quote mate. I was pointing out it was TD6 not TDV6!!!!]

Td6 chipped to 230 is my suggestion - more reliable engine, but not as modern. Just get a nice cheap one and save money for gearbox 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

my TD6 is super reliable, maybe be because i have had it since 38k miles on the clock and have looked at it ..... to me having a reliable car is the most important so i would go far a late / low mileage TD6 like i did |

If you drive them, the answer may become obvious - I hated the TD6, but the TDV8 is a different beast |

That's what I've been thinking, a low (ish) mileage one, and look after it.
When I previously had a TD6, I never thought it was lacking in power in any way. It's far more about being a luxury limo that can do an astonishing range of off-road tasks, can tow an amazing weight, go through 2 feet of floodwater, up the hills to home in freezing snowy conditions, and yet still be cossetting on a 400 mile trip up to the Highlands, 4 up and loaded.
I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the recent LR/RR 'bling' look, to me it's a bit too common/desperate and shouting 'LOOK AT ME' all the time. The originals are far more discreet. Do have to agree regarding the gearbox though Hope I didn't offend too many people with that last comment ... if so, my apologies |

I agree on the later bling look - much prefer the original. I don't know what Land Rover were thinking when they Rooney-fied it. I guess I shouldn't have written 'looking prehistoric'. I meant in terms of technology. |
