If in doubt n brakes i would change them. i cant remember exactly when i changed mine but i think it was around 40,000 miles. Generally it depends on your driving style and the sort of journeys etc rather than mileage. If there is a lip on the Disc it sounds like it is tome to renew especially if paid for by dealer |

thats pretty good when you consider what you are replacing youve got a big gauze filter a few seals and a new pan gasket then the oil which i believe you cant use std ATF red fluid i just get everything from LR the fluid is bout £100-£150 could be really special but i doubt it the only reason i get it all from LR is i know it all pukka and tested stuf onto no6 Range Rover

Ahh..I see, I thought it has a drain plug at the bottom, and a fill plug somewhere half way up. ...so it has its own oil filter, and it does not have a drain plug? Is that right? |

If like me you're used to working on old Land Rovers then yes it was just a case of a drain plug and a filler hole, dead easy!

Well...took it down today for a free service, and asked for the gearbox fluid change, he told me fluid alone would cost in the region of £110-£120. I guess the fluid must be really good then, anyway I've told him to go ahead, and also have those side steps fitted as well

Sadly I don't, but the Indy I take mine too is NOT a Land Rover specialist, you don't need to be to fit brakes, any grease monkey can do those.
