Just re read and seen they are picking it up tomorrow!! I'd take everything you can put of the vehicle before they come! Spare wheel, boot floor cover, matts, BT module.... Once that car gets on the loader an an assessor sees it you won't see it again other than a request for the docs as has been the case in a lot of write offs, they assume you don't want to see it again and already have a buyer lined up and move it straight on to avoid storage costs Sad just make it clear that you want to retain salvage on it to cover yourself as I reckon while they may write it off you could probably get it repaired for about £5-10k as long as the roof isn't rippled and the other d pillar hasn't twisted too..

Shocked Shocked there is a ripple on the roof not much but definitely there do you think I should be taking stuff out???...I can easily haul the mats out but can't open the boot to get the spare Sad

Sad Never good.... I would try and get my original fitment wheels back on it if the insurance company haven't been told of a wheel size change.... Land Rover Addict

Honestly if it was me i would just be leaving it as it is , what are you gonna gain by taking stuff out that will be replaced anyhow … Granted the mats if you had bought them yourself … For what a few hundred quid and then the ball ache of getting an assessor going over the car knowing what to look for on such a high end car …. and some can be a right "dot the i's and cross the t's Hitler" ….

100% with Joker just leave it as is as removing bits for pennies is high risk in my opinion.

If there is a ripple then I'm 95% sure it will be written off as the monocoque is twisted.

IME I would take anything out as I've seen what happens when the cars are never seen again and people have left things in, sentimental and also expensive items they just get stripped at the storage yard by a lackey for any bits they can get away with not leaving in the car.

If the boot doesn't open it wont matter if you force it open as its just the upper clamshell that looks stuffed once you get it a few inches up then the lower will open. Any body shop would do exactly the same!

Spare should be taken out as you can easily get away with saying it is off having a puncture repaired and matts and bits like that will be the first things to go at a yard. if it fetches more than £10 on eblag then you know its a target Sad Not saying they are all like this but having known lads who worked at ones round donny and they are some big ones round that way, then I'd not take the chance.
If it were me i wouldn't even let it leave my drive until the assessor had been round, Mine stayed on the drive until 3 of them had come round to have a poke at it after its argument with an xtype that it won(kind of!)and they still put me in a hire car from the day I reported it Smile

The ripple in the roof will be from the pillar going upward or downard as its been pushed in. This would come out when a new pillar was put in as I think you can get that part on its own or as a section but Dan would be able to confirm this.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you fella Smile

Has it done many miles as even as a Cat C/D if you repaired and took their payout you'd be quids in even when coming to sell it on as long as you kept all the repair invoices and loads of pics from during the repair which a few places will do as they go along for you Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just make sure they know under no uncertain terms that you are wanting to retain salvage on it and that its not to leave the depot without your approval. Better to say you would want it and change your mind later if the numbers don't stack up than find out like other poor saps have done that minutes after the assessor has written it off and made a stupidly low scrap value on it that it has been bought and is off to a repair shop to make a tidy profit on Sad I kid you not the insurance ombudsman has tonnes of these complaints every year amongst other things...

Even if you don't decide to repair it buying it back and sticking it on the likes of ebay will net you more money than taking just the write off value lump sum. A few members on the Disco forum are taking to breaking them now after a crash and seem to be able to turn a good profit on them as long as you have the space and some time to strip bits out Smile Disco site even has a forum section for one guy who broke his after it was mangled in france and recovered back to the UK iirc.. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Example of someone selling RECON exchange engines on the bay...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-4-4-...43b7791e9c

So take your turbos off and anchillary bits and thats your target price if not a smidge more for an engine with history and at the opposite end of the accident. Stick worldwide shipping on it and you'll have an even better audience as no doubt there are people out there wanting to fit it into other vehicles, possibly for even more money with the ECU and turbos... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
