Disaster!!!

What a nightmare today was...my son was driving our forklift with the grain bucket attached and hadn't seen me parking the Rangie at the front of the shed and he caught the back of the car with the corner of the bucket...The language was choice to say the least but the main thing is nobody was hurt and I have cooled down now. Insurance picking car up tomorrow God knows how long it will take to fix if at all Big Cry Big Cry

Sounds like your procedures on forklift running should be updated or the driver(s) need additional training. If the forklift driver can't see because the bucket is too big then no more use of the bucket unless there is a spotter guiding the driver. If the bucket can be lowered for proper viewing then the driver needs a big slap on the wrist. Imagine if it would have hurt someone, you would have had some big issue with the HSE lot. Legally you are responsible and could end up with major issues that could make a company go under financially.

In Oil and Gas this would be major, stop the work, root cause analysis etc. etc. because of the potential for lethal accidents.

Glad no-one got hurt but still very very bad. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Geez Jim, looks nasty, glad nobody was hurt. Not sure if it will be a re-shell job, hope not as they are never the same afterwards.

Guess the Jaguar will be pressed into daily service and with snow and -15c being forecast it could be fun Whistle

I agree in principle. I also work in O&G, obviously you wouldn't find a RR offshore to drive a forklift into but safety is drilled into us every day. I guess it's a lot different working within a family business though and I'm sure lessons will be learnt. Again thankfully it's only metal that is damaged (and reputations ha).
