England 2010 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black
45k service

Hi all

Just a quick one really, my car has told me it needs a service!

Now this will be the first one under my ownership and I have no idea if I am getting a good price from the main stealers.

It is a MY10 3.6 tdv8 and if what I have been told is correct it's due it's 3rd(45k mile) service, this does tally up with my service book and mileage.I have been quoted £350 by my local dealer is this good or should I try and shave a little more off.

Thanks in advance

Kev

Ring around one or two and maybe an Indy, there are some I can recommend depending where in Ches you are, and then see if the dealer will come down. Some do and some dont. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

Thanks kingpleb,

I have rung 6 dealers so far and £350 seems to be the best but with the range of quotes I have been getting and the different ways they all describe the service schedule it's a bit confusing so just wondered if anyone else had a view on the price.
Also has anyone for any views on stratstones stoke on Trent?

Thanks

Sure there are only three services available. Oil service, service 1 and service 2. Make sure they are quoting for the same service! Previously..

This is where the confusion is.
If you look at the service book it says oil service, inspection 1 and inspection 2 but after having a lengthy conversation with a service manager at guy salmon it seems this is left over from the td6 and the tdv8 only has 2 services.
The first being an oil service and the second being where they also change the diesel filter.
Does anyone know if this is correct?

Thanks

That is what i understand too, the inspection 1 and 2 are left over from bmw, as that is the service schedule on he m57 engine.

Having looked into what is done i think there is basically minor and major services oil sevice is basically that, and in the inspections they change the air and i think fuel filters as well. The other service items such as trans box oiL, brake fluid, diff oils, gearbox oils and coolant are add ons. Worrying this as you can get the inspection stamped but that is not a guarantee that the car has had all of the other bits and bobs.

To be honest apart from the extra filters there isnt much difference as there isnt much else to do. No timing belts, no plugs etc.
One point with a car in corrosion warranty, you will need to get it serviced at the MD and make sure they stamp the corrosion inspection part of the service book to maintain this part of the warranty....

£350 doesnt sound too bad. Ring round main delers as their prices can vary, our local dealer knocked a few quid off on my last service Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

According to the schedules I have from topix

Oil Service = not much more than an oil change
Inspection 1 = Minor service
Inspection 2 = Major Service

There are also additional items which should be done every 2, 5 and 10 years regardless of which service/inspection is being carried out 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
