13 volts when running sounds more like impending alternator failure. If the battery still has enough to start the car then it's probably OK although it won't stay that way if it doesn't get charged properly. |

needs to be 12.5v not running, the 14v at idle is not too bad if thats under load. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

I would do yourself a favour and order a new one up. The day you really need the car will be the day it finally gives up on you.! Ash

At 6 years old you definitely need a new battery.

You need to get a proper multimeter on it, mine reads 13.6-8 no load as soon as the lights are switched on it dips to 12.7 and comes back up slowly, under full load it dips to 11.9 and rises as the revs come up, this is no good but the ign light does not come on and it starts fine (but is a petrol) Dont forget to not just check at the battery also check at the bulkhead connection and at the +ve coming out of the alternator as you may have a bad lead.
