I have just ordered the GAP DIAGNOSTICS IID tool
Reading the forum it seems to be the best and its a good price.

There is a link on new posts

As you have the petrol L322, you could consider the RSW All Comms system.

http://www.rswsolutions.com/index.php?opti...;Itemid=81

It uses a laptop rather than the instrument cluster in the car, and is cheaper than the IID Tool.

I have just sold mine earlier this week to another forum member.

That said, it seems support is a little lacking and its unclear whether new features will be added over time...........

By a long shot, the chaps at GAP Diagnostic who produce the IID Tool go above and beyond the call of duty to help you out and get you going again, even if the problem is not directly IID Tool related.

The IID Tool is also small enough to be carried in the glove box, and just uses the car for power and display, so no laptop needed.

http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool.html

It does however use the instrument cluster so you will need to have any "pixel issues" fixed before you can use it.

I now have an air suspension issue, which is ironic as I've just sold my All Comms, as my laptop was stuffed, so have ended up ordering an IID Tool as I don't want to be stuck again.........

The reason I was asking is that I've just fitted a new rear offside height sensor and my mate came round with his AutoBoss diagnostics and we found problems resetting the height. The RSW one seems to have a 10min re calibration of the suspension whereas the others seem to have only manual adjustments. I have downloaded somebodies height measurements and will have another go with the AutoBoss tomorrow. At the moment both axles are level across the car but the front one keeps going back to the off road height. 2002 Vogue Epsom Green with Ivory Leather.

I'm sure someone will post how you can get around this problem.
if you search for suspension reset you will get the answer.

There has been posts about steering from lock to lock that will reset the suspension, you do need to do other things but there should be an easy solution for this one .

Mines currently planted on the bump stops at the front. I wish mine would go to off road height !

The calibration seems more manual with the IID Tool I think, but then that may be better and cover more situations.........although taking a little longer to go through.

I wouldn't bother looking at any other diagnostic than those 2, and even then it'll be down to price I'd imagine....... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

my laptop was dying and it doesn't cover td6 engine or gearbox .

No issues otherwise.

Can't really justify new laptop just for all comms. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I have carried out suspension calibrations and adjustments with both the RSW All Comms and the IID Tool.

Neither tool unveils (if that is the right word) the full complexities and intricacies that lie within the computers on the early Range Rover, and they do rely on everything on the car working properly for them to work as we might expect. I have something not quite right on one corner that neither tool could rectify - yet.

They will both help you recover from an Air Suspension shut down, and on the whole assist in diagnosing the fault that lies within, with the IIDtool coming out on top with diagnosis and support.

In terms of calibration the IIDtool offers more, it will allow height setting per wheel, but this is dependent on the height being more than 10mm out of line with the other wheel on the same axle. It will allow height setting for just the front or the back, or for all four wheels.

The RSW All Comms will allow for a calibration of all four wheels only, but then you can fudge the numbers and use some lateral thinking to get the heights you want.

For both tools you do need a level flat surface, a tape measure, pen, paper & calculator as both require you to measure heights the wheels/wings to get things going.

Using either tool to play with air suspension heights can be fun, making the car rise and fall at your command gives you back some control over the beast that refuses to behave Wink .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I have had the IDTool since it was released and have done all sorts of things especially with the CCF disabling easy exit/entrance, lock all doors on drive away, unlock only drivers door on first key click plus lots of messing with suspension heights. I don't like to disagree with Jayboy ( on anyone come to that) but I was able to adjust to within a mm although even in service mode with tight tolerances the car "allows" a 3mm tolerance.
I think he's spot on that you need pen, paper and ruler together with patience and methodology - also if you are measuring to the floor (not recommended), if you have non standard tyres for example, you need to be happy with the pressures.
I don't know about the other devices but so far the only issue I have had with the tool is understanding some fault codes but the boys at GAP are on hand seemingly 24/7 with help and of course it's still evolving. Geoff

I have had an IIDTool from the get go. Highly recommended. As for back up there on this forum ( Hi Steve) and second to none. Pity other compamies back up wasn't as half as good. GAP Diagnostic are constantly inproving their product and at no extra charges.

Thats my 10 cents worth anyway

Gary
