its reassuring to know high mileages are achievable with these beasts if they are looked after. I work for the ambulance service and we have 2007 vehicles with over 400k on the clock going strong, several engines and gearboxes but everything else still good!

Does 400k really count if it has had several engines and gearboxes?? I don't think so.. Previously..

Looking like they're pretty much shot by 150,000. I had a Subaru Forester recently with over 500,000 miles on the same un-opened engine & box. The dealer where I had it serviced said they had seen a few with over that mileage Confused

Surely you mean 'run in' not shot. Plenty of FFRRs with 150 plus! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Mine's done a little over 100k.

The gearbox was replaced at approx 70k by the previous owner. The only big thing I've had done is a new steering rack and some new injectors (done under warranty).

I've averaged 10k a year in the 2.5 years I've had it which is more than I thought considering it's a second car and I also have three motorcycles. I'm hoping it has another 5 years or so of life in it, by which time it'll be 15 years old and maybe 150k. If I then get nothing for it then it'll have cost me approx < £2.5k in depreciation, which isn't a lot.

By then I might be in the market for an L405. Laughing

193000 kms on 2004 4.4 v8 - original engine and gearbox as far as i know - still going strong - especially after replacing the breather (pcv) hoses and the pcv itself.
