I had exactly the same problem with mine - that pipe blew off - happened to me a few weeks after the expansion tank cracked. Just replaced the pipe assembly and all has been good since (20,000 miles). I think the plastic for the pipe connector is the same stuff as the expansion tank, so it made sense (to me) that they should both fail at about the same time.

Mine went to on a 2011 Vogue after 19k miles. Hose replaced under warranty - but took them a month to sort it out. All ok now. 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Use the bottle to get a head of water. Obligatory use when bleeding cars with a low expansion tank. Citroens bleed better using a lemonade bottle rather than the coke version. |

My mate at BMW taught me ages ago, get a empty 2ltr bottle fill with water remove the little plastic ring from the lid seal at the top of the bottle Then the bottle neck seals to the neck of the expansion tank and leave it there y u run up the car, ur see air bubbles coming out and the bottle flexing u might want a extra bottle on stand by, rev the car etc ur see the air once ur happy put ur cap on job done |
