Thinking of getting two screens fitted in the rear of the headrests (electric type) and fitting a DVD player for my little boy

My 2 yr old always watches it keeps him quiet, he too small to work an iPad and I don't have any films on the iPad either so it works out better for me. I installed them myself.

You can get a couple of brand new Google nexus 7's for the price of an iPad. I have had rear screens in the car since I got it, never been used in anger. .

I have screens in the rear headrests of my car that the previous owner had paid to be installed - we also have a dvd player in the boot but this has not been used for the best part of a year. I removed the dvd input on the screen control box and replaced it with 2 iPod/iPad AV cables. The sound is routed via dual channel RF headphones as these seem more reliable than the IR headphones - the 'wings' on the kids seats meant that they had to keep their heads leaning forwards with IR headphones on to maintain 'line of sight' for the headphones to work. This is used on almost any journey of over 10 minutes as it keeps the kids amused (and quiet) and each child can choose what they watch/listen to. The sound comes through the headphones when they listen to music or if they decide to stop watching cartoons and play a game for a bit.

I don't know the brand off hand but ill take a pic when I get my car back from garage. It's a but slimmer than a car stereo as an example. The screens have option for 2 channels, so one for DVD say and other for playstation. I also got him a pair of dual channel headphones that he doesn't mind wearing, they are small ones and are auto off which is v handy. |

I have 2 9' nextbase "click and go" stanchion mounted players in my car they were from halfords and tge screen folds down to load them. You can also easily unclip them and put them in a different car. The seem to have an updated model but i think the principle is the same.
