United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Oslo Blue

I get 18.5 mpg on mostly short B-road trips. This goes up to 22mph on long motorway trips

Hopefully other members can correct me if I'm wrong on the figures below:

Check tyre pressure is correct
Check no callipers are sticking
Don't use supermarket fuel (worth 1-3 mpg?)
Avoid sports mode (worth ~2-5 mpg?)

Check the EGR isn't stuck open. You can get an EGR blanking kit on fleebay for around ~£40 which I read saves another 2-3 MPG - more info: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic6705-60.html

Finally if you do a lot of miles, you can get an economy remap Laughing

Kingpleb,

Does flushing the fuel system really help mpg? I was handed a flyer the other day for a company that have a chemical system for flushing diesel fuel lines. I was pretty sceptical, but have you some experience?
