Train station car park

Can you get done for leaving the scene in a train station car park if you've not seen any damage?
Someone reckons the mrs has scratched the paintwork and bust a headlight on their car pulling out of a parking space, there is no damage on her car, she did touch it but checked to make sure there was no damage before leaving.

Most stations have CCTV, so maybe you could check if they have any footage of the alleged incident. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I dare say there were signs up somewhere stating that vehicles are left at the owners risk ?

I'd also imagine its private land ?

Could be wrong, but I always thought things were different in that case, and that insurance was not technically needed.

There will be more knowledgeable people than I who know the facts.

I'd be interested to know where this fits legally............

If there is no damage to your car, its gonna be difficult to prove there was contact.

Did they watch her do it ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

She thinks a taxi driver was watching, she got out to check, but like I say she saw nothing, I'll check for a sign

I would have thought if the other car had a scratch and a bust headlight then there would be some telltale signs of action on yours! The fact she got out and checked, but saw no damage, she did not leave the scene without doing anything. Previously..

Could be the taxi driver did see it and told the owner when they returned to their vehicle and the owner decided to try it on to make a few shillings for Christmas Whistle Whistle

Yes you can get done for leaving the scene in a train station car park or anywhere else if you damaged someones property, without leaving your contact details or insurance details.

I wonder if the posts here would read the same if the original post was by the owner of the "damaged" car.

In September I was stationary behind a car that was picking up in the local railway station then she reversed back into SWMBO car cracking the bumper Sad

She said sorry she did not see me and I saw there was cctv so thought no problem and informed my insurer who requested cctv from northern rail as did I Rolling Eyes

My insurers kept telling me they were awaiting response from the lady and the CCTV - then I received an email to say cctv not available after 28 days despite sending cheque/form within days of incident and ringing them weekly - then she claimed I ran into her while she was stopped Shocked

I complained to northern rail but they have ignored me. The police were sympathetic but unable to help even if I produce evidence she is lying Banging Head

It is my word against hers and likely to be settled 50/50 by insurers now I have no witness/cctv Evil or Very Mad

It has cost me £300 excess, lost me a sale and all my wife's no claim Big Cry

Now using a Blackvue for protection and decided everyone is a lying Censored Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

This is true - you can't be done for leaving an accident you did not know about.

However, the OP said his Mrs checked for damage, therefore she knew something had happened! Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
