You have a compressor and air bags (don't think there called that) that inflate so probably issue with either of these.

If you have been pressing the height button repeatedly you may have overheated compressor so leave it for a while disconnect battery leave for 10 mins and reconnect . Then try again . If height button used too much in succession it goes into a safe mode to stop overheating might be the cause. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

The only thing on display is the usual suspension inactive and 35mph or something. There no light on for the button which operates the hights. Sorry if this is vague. Cheers Olly |

Could of just overheated the compressor. Give it a bit to cool down and try again. What height does it think its at? Also remember all doers need to be closed for it to work. |

Disconnect the battery for ten mins, then reconnect, start the car turn the steering from full lock left to full lock right (resets some systems) then allow the car to run for 5 mins then raise the car to either normal height or if too high lower it first to park mode... Then raise to normal height... Only when its achieved normal height would i attempt off road height... Craig |

That maybe one possibilty. Ive also tried with all the doors shut and still have no light on for the height functions just in the same position of the front lower and back still up. |

Light on button to change height means auto height adjust is disabled so you don't want that on. You got light in one of the height modes or none lit up? |

If you have an Air Suspension Inactive message and no orange lights on the height indicator then the system has logged a fault and won't now try to run the compressor or any part of the suspension system until the fault code is reset. If you have the kit (IID tool, RSW Allcomms etc), it's a 30 second job to read and reset the code; without the kit you can't do it. No amount of disconnecting the battery will help.
