The problem we've got is our jack Russell won't stop whining! She cant wait to get into the car, but as soon as I move off, she starts. I've tried herbal remedies but nothing works. It's like she's distressed at times.

unfortunately you have to ignore them or they'll never stop. I did the same thing with the sleeping crate as I did with the car crate and that was put something of mine in with her. On the first day we got her (7 weeks ago) I put on an old T shirt and then spent a good hour before bed fussing over her, then took the T shirt off and gave it to her to sleep with. seemed to work OK... Regards

When I got my Wolfhound pup (size of a German Shepherd at 8 weeks old ), I left him in a big carboard box next to the bed (cushion side). When he started whining, lowered my hand in the box, he sniffed, stopped whining and that was it (after a few nights he stopped whining altogether).

I have the roll up luggage net for three labs and and springer. It is cheaper than the metal dog guard and in my mind plenty strong enough and made form seatbelt like webbing. I also think if the worst was to happen I would rather they hit a luggage net than a solid metal grid for their benefit. There is less room when they are sitting up with the luggage net as the bar comes across the back of the seats but still plenty of room and they prefer to lie down anyway. The downside is if you have a wilfull dog that is determined to get through then it can get round the side of the luggage net. If you ever wanted the luggage net option, if you PM me I can look out the invoice of the parts needed and you can usually pick up the roller from ebay. |

DOnt want to teach anyone to suck eggs here but if they are missing their mum and sisters and brothers, sometimes a warm hot waterbottle and an old wind up alarm clock hidden safely somewhere in the bed help to emulate sleeping near mum. |

I regularly transport 2 big dogs, each weighing about 38kilo(Rotteiller , and Serra de Estrella, used by local sheep farmers to protect from wolves)

Noddy, Jack Russell as well and he can't wait to get into the car! I have a crate and he loves it, goes to sleep as soon I'm driving off. Important that the crate isn't to big, just the size he's able to stand and turn around. JJ |
