Yesterday I was driving in the city after previously having done about 25 miles on the motorway when my '08 Vogue TDV8 sounded a double fault beep but displayed no message on the console. I was doing about 35mph at the time. Pressing the system check button to the right of the message console revealed "Check OK". External temperature was 9 degrees. Conditions were wet with light rain.

could be a 'maximum speed' warning you might have set in the menu..if not, then i wouldn't worry about it until all the dash lights light up.. ... - .- -.

Wasn't using sat nav at the time and I don't have the speed limit set. Nothing seemed untoward so I think I'll take Stan's advice and worry when a light comes on...

I get this on occasion on startup, on occasion it comes with special programs off message, maybe slightly weakening battery? Mine shows up with the display of the clock in the message center turning itself off the next time i start it and the odd double ping, sometimes with the message above, I am taking it it is the battery as I flattened it by leaving the boot open for hours on end. This nonsense only started after that.

My Mate's one used to do that - resetting the adaptive stuff in the gearbox solved it (ignition on, engine not running, full throttle for 30 seconds - or something like that) for several days, then it came back, then the AA man came to take him to the gearbox mender... |

Did you have anything on the passenger seat? Mine started beeping like mad the other day, cue lots of cursing and telling the car to f##k off etc etc pulled up over, walked around the whole car - nothing wrong. Got in the car, looked at the passenger seat - removed various heavy items off it. Seatbelt warning magically went off.

Nope, but I know what you mean. Had the same thing once when I bought a bottle of Coke at a petrol station and on driving off, with it led on the passenger seat, suddenly had a repeated warning beep. Coincidentally I'd just picked it up from the stealer so I thought what the f***'s up now??!! These beeps aren't good for the blood pressure |
