Bowmore Darkest is another great malt. Salty, sweet and peaty and bloody delicious!

Talisker. Hate the distillery and their pompous attitude, but their Distillers Edition was superb and even their 10 year-old is massively drinkable.

Also getting into Balvennie Doublewood of late.

Must try the Auchentoshan. Thumbs Up Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

Used to be my preferred but I find it too sickly now.
Read good reports on the Auchentoshan, so a new one to try over Christmas

50% whisky 50% room temperature bottled still water no ice

If you drink whisky straight it anaesthetises your palate and you don't get the full flavour and ice kills the flavour. Coke, lemonade, Irn Bru etc all just waste a good drink and you would be better off drinking cat Censored Whistle

Last time I drank JD and coke was in Australia just before a cyclone hit. We'd all been sent back to camp (again) and were supposedly in lockdown, but we ended up, as usual, having a bit of a party. A friend of mine offered me some JD and coke and... well, the bottle emptied and a new one was started and that almost emptied.

Passed out in my room but couldn't sleep for long... I'm sure I fell asleep with my head down the toilet at one point.

The cyclone hit at around 4.30am, by which time I was on Skype and feeling decidedly secondhand. Si. <This is my name.

if you put small drop of room temperature water in first, this stops 'shocking' the whisky before adding ice, but each to their own I guess Thumbs Up .

Not a great lover of malts especially the peaty ones.

Did enjoy Johhnie Walker blue label courtesy of BA on a long haul though.

Tend to drink Grouse, Grouse and more Grouse.

Ian
