I'd agree with Caol Isla cask strength but also recommend Auschentan Triple Wood (tastes like good toffee) or acNoc which is just a nice sublime easy going but smokey whisky. |

Am a lapsed member of Malt Whisky Society and they have casks that are a total eye opener with regards taste, colour, nose etc but day to day one of the nicest bargain basements I have had recently is Tesco's own Islay malt. Not exactly leapfrog but not far off.

Glendronach, 21 YO, not easy to find, but if you like sherry style, then worth finding. |

Yep, for me it's got to be the Western Malts.....Laphroig, Lagavulin, Talisker or Bowmore.
