Warning *** severe topic creep ***

I suppose that after shooting in the wet, WD40 is ok for cleaning barrels (as long as it doesn't replace gun oil for subsequent lubrication) ... Shocked

I always lubricate the gun post cleaning with 3in1 oil.

The original gun oil smell used to come from Youngs 303, however there is an ongoing letter thread in The Field about the lack of gun oil smell in the product. I have written in too!

There is nothing nicer than the smell of a gun room, it has hints of gun oil, leather, wood. They should make an aftershave of it! Very Happy Discovery 4 HSE

Ah - I use Napier (because I prefer the smell to 3 in 1) !

Maybe if the FFRR walnut fittings were oiled wood and the hinges had a combination of lithium grease and gun oil then the smell could be recreated (with a few used cartridges left in the door pockets to add a hint of gunpowder) Very Happy.

But where do you put it? I hate things dangling from the mirror, and if any chemical touches an interior surface it instantly melts! I have a small apple scent spray I keep in the cubby box and spray to keep the car fresh, but often forget.

I thought about throwing something under the seat, but not found anything suitable yet.

Dayum! That must be lethal stuff!

I've just got the clip part of the air freshener jammed in the side of the front dash vents and just dangles there. Not very neat.

I have one of these under the front seats of my work van though, nice smell and hidden away, lasts for ages too...

Here are some other uses:

7. Removes lipstick stains.
8. Loosens stubborn zips.

Hmm, noticed the following two are next to each other... Does that mean it removes lipstick from stuck zips? Whistle
