Before I get under the car is anybody aware of the exact location of the Gear Linkage on BMW engined 2003 4.4 V8 Petrol please?

I know where it is on TDV8/TDV6 but have not greased a 4.4 V8 before......

Looking at the workshop manual for the 2002-2005 models, the ZF gearbox has a cable from the selector level to the gearbox. The gearbox has a lever that controls the manual control valve in the gearbox. So no real linkage. If things are going "a bit heavy", then I suggest to lube the cable with a good lubricant like Molykote Multigliss or the likes. A bit of grease on the cable connections to the levers won't go amiss either. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

This is what I was after I knew they all have a linkage that needs greasing/oiling or replacing on older cars....

Appears to be on the passenger side on the 5HP24......

Which is why blindly spraying the drivers side did not help.... Embarassed

Not I am afraid I think it may be a blocked lower radiator problem causing Gearbox Overheat.
