United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Java Black

The dealer has had my initial deposit for a long time now and I have heard nothing from them. They have not even sent me a pic of the new model. I will give it another few days before I get my money back. *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

Same here. I have heard nothing from the dealer or LR. You would have thought the least they could have done was send out some promotional material to those who have put down deposits. It will be worth doing a good trawl of the other dealers before committing anyway to see what discounts are available. Once the initial allocation is through the larger dealer networks should be open to a bit of negotiation.

We will see. There is always a lot of BS with new car models and allocations to create some hype. Once the initial ones are delivered and a few people have dropped out that initally put down deposits I will be surprised if all 2013 production will be sold out which means disounts will eventually be inevitable. If you want one in the first half of next year I agree you will most likely pay full price as a private individual but the second half ought to see some flexibility come in.

If Evoque sales are anything to go by then 14 months into production there is still a 4-5 month wait for a factory order and longer for some versions and discounts just are not happening, even getting a freebie set of mats or a brolly out of a dealer is jolly difficult.
Today's Autocar has a spread about their recent road test from Gaydon to Marrakesh in the L405. I think it is the first roadtest I have read where they have not a single adverse comment to post.............. not even a comment about the silvery side trim/ blade things and the vents, on the SDv8 they drove. One thing that I think is disappointing (and also in the tradition of the Evoque) is the fuel economy - ok so it managed 29mpg on the run from Santander to Algeciras (they don't say what sped they averaged) but I could average more than 30mpg on the run from Scotland to Southampton in my 2010MY 3.6TDv8. They reckon the new car sits at 1500RPM/ 70mph and 95 is 2000rpm in 8th gear. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Dealers here got allocated 5 cars each for January 2013 - if one dealer really likes you - you will get perhaps 3-5 % off....... on a car that you speced..... All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

Tailgating lorries at 56 mph? A 4.4 TDV8 L322 won't average 30 at normal motorway speeds.

Agree. My average MPG is 26.8 from a mix of motorway and town.

I got 60mpg and thereabouts from the 3.0SDV6 i had (D4 XS) doing that so wouldnt be far off in the L405 i bet.

35 on arun at 70 shouldn't be too hard as its sleeker and engines working less for the same amount of thrust to contiue its normal momentum Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Price is for the old one, 0-60 figure is that for 0-100 km/h, mpg is being quoted as 32.5 mpg and 229 g/km elsewhere.

How you can get 60MPG from the SDV6 escapes me. I did 2,000 miles in a Discovery SDV6 HSE and got only 23MPG (12,5L/100km)!

And although ok, I thought it suffered from turbo lag at low revs so probably not the best engine to have in a Range Rover if you want refinement.
