Would like to think our fitted prices work out better on Vredestein tyres as we stock most winter sizes, yes some mail order company's look cheap untill you add the carriage and fitting charges.

Think if you can it's best to ask your local tyre shop to see if they can match or get close on prices. Thumbs Up Andy....

Andy, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the Hankook Ventus ST tyres.

They're branded as M&S (but not a full winter) and would like to know what the industry would think of them as a useful year round option (for 20'').

Cheers,

Ben

Not a very popular tyre for us, quite a hard compound and hear they are not that good in the wet. Andy....

Right, sorted for the moment thanks - found some 19" on the bay with Toyo's for a very good price.

Except that when I came to fit the new wheels, my silver bolts are too large a diameter .... Big Cry

Do I just need to get some of the older style black ones (he said, hoping that they are not too long) ?

I have to admit that I'm surprised by how much the road noise reduces (on a poor road surface) and how much smoother a ride it is just going from 20" to 19" (not sure what effect the Pirelli to Toyo tread pattern has on the noise).

Just bought five Proxes ST, fitted and balanced, for £800 from Cambridge Perfromance Tyres. They seem fine and can not be much worse value than the Continentals that they have replaced.

I had these on my VW Touareg... I used them only because they were the hardest tyre I could find. The VW ate tyres at a frightening rate (10k miles if you were going steady), anything soft almost visibly disappeared!. I wouldn't particularly rate them for grip. Lloyd Barnes
