Mine is working fine and it is quite handy to not have to check the tyres every now and then (although I still keep an eye on them). Retrofitting will be a bit of a mission as the "antennas" on the car need to be fitted with their wiring harness and piped into the electronics and I am not sure if the 2003 electronics have the necessary hardware and software for it.

If you really want a TPMS system, there are retrofit systems for motorbikes (you would have to get two to cover all four tyres) that I have seen advertised in bike magazines. These systems are wireless and I am pretty sure you can fit them to cars as well.

Have a look here : http://www.tire-pressure-monitors.com/

On my bike I had the cheap colour indicator ones, just a quick check before every ride. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

There are systems available for cars and caravans which use transmitters in the valve caps and a small lcd remote display. Much easier.

Or you could check them with a pressure guage once a week for free..... Very Happy There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

For god sake don't bother!

It's a biggest PITA ever, it hardly ever works and when it goes wrong only a dealer can fix it properly. It's the one thing on mine I wish it never had. Discovery 4 HSE

I paid £245 in a group buy. Available from Britpart or sometimes on the bay. Coded to your own VIN. It allows a lot of functions, including disabling TPMS, resetting service indicator, reset EAS etc. Plenty on here about its capabilities. I consider it worth the money just to end the misery that is TPMS.

Dealer is correct. Their software can't get that far in. I've had 18 months of misery with "Check XX tyre pressure" messages. More irritating than chilli powder in the boxers (so I'm reliably informed)

Dom.
