Caravan and camping section

I've noticed the Disco forums have this- what about having one here? I've Ben reading their caravan section and it's very informative. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Slippery slope noddy, there are some on here who would see that as an opening for a cookery section and others who would want a knitting section and what about a toddlers section or a sewing bee Whistle

Seems popular enough on the D3/D4 forums? And you don't have to look at it if you have no interest. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Hardly Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

We caravan a lot. Something which is 100% necessary due to hoteliers in the UK all having a pathological hatred of dogs & children.

They also seem to get the arse if I'm going on a shooting weekend and I turn up with a shotgun in hand. It's not legal to leave in the car when unattended unless heavily secured, and even then it's frowned on by the Rozzers, not unreasonably in my view.

Besides, SWMBO's cooking is vastly better than most hotels I've stayed in.

It's image is changing massively and I would say its more popular now than it's ever been. Motorhomes especially- I've never seen so many on the roads.
It's not the preserve of the pensioners anymore either- go to the caravan and motorhome show at the NEC and see the different age groups. I've seen childless couples in their 20's on sites with new caravans.

Hotels are costing a fortune these days and i believe standards are slipping. Likewise holidaying abroad. Don't get me wrong- we love it and still go, but I'm starting to tire of 3hr check-ins, flight times, bring told what time breakfast and dinner are, crap food and drink etc etc. done it for the best part of 20 yrs and we fancied doing something different.

Wife took a lot of convincing so the only way to get her in one was to buy a decent top spec one. She loves it now. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I am with Noddy the big Caravan clubs have seen massive increases in membership over the last few years and are struggling to meet demand.
A couple of crap summers might change all that though!!
However biggest increase has been in camper vans Mine was a blue one! Smile

ahh, but you dont have to make the beds up afterwords in a motel room..

i dont have a caravan but sometimes wish i had so i pop over to the d3 forum and have a read and when i want a laugh i go to the RRS forum Mr. Green ..i dont think enough members here have one to warrant a section for it...maybe integrate 'caravaning' into the off road-greenlaning section.. ... - .- -.
