Just back with the Motorhome as i went down to Southerness for the bank holiday weekend , and noticed a few of the caravans had these large poles with flags and such on them , are they just for show or do they have any use , maybe some of you tuggers could enlighten me ….. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Scotland 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

Normally have the Saltire on the top of mine and a set of lights so I can find the van in the dark after a few nightcaps.

I've hired a 5 berth van for the October school week, heading up to Elie with it.......quick question for those caravanners on here - are the mirrors OK on the RR or do you use additional mirrors (strap on before anyone cracks a joke !) Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Erm, not quite. They are only a legal requirement if you cannot see the back corner of the van in the regular mirrors. This is only an issue in a FFRR if you have a 2.5m wide van. I don't use towing mirrors with a 2.3m van since I can see the back corners, so it naturally follows that I can see in a straigt line another 15 metres or so.

Check it out here. Some decent enough information.

Not sure about that. it was a topic in the magazines the other week.
as the graphic you attached shows the offside is fine but even with a FF you get a nearside blind spot.
There is therefore an argument that you only require a nearside mirror but the consensus in the magazines was to fit them to avoid an argument with plod. Mine was a blue one! Smile
