now that nearly all of the uk is digital, i wonder what use the tv function on the fullfat would be..i know you can get a hybrid tuner for about £250/300 but i'd rather spend that kind of money on 40'' led for my toilet ..

Keep your eye our for a 12V freeview box, and either connect the scart video and audio outputs into the Aux in on the TV tuner, or look for one with RF output (rare though now).

Thought about doing this I have got the small freeview box (6 volt) but struggled to find the RF in on the MOST tv tuner and not sure about the screen aerials as they are powered from the cars receiver, Do they need to be powered or will they work without?

simon, as it is , the touch screen tuner has an input for video but no audio..so you could connect a freeview box with rgb outputs to the screen but you wont get sound...the MOST system is very hard to 'hack' hence the extortionate prices for hybrid tuners..

If we take this back to basics the car tuner is looking for a analogue signal thats what a Freeview box generates so in theory if I connect an aerial to my freeview box then connect the output rf lead to the Tuner it should tune to the freeview box's output.

the analogue uhf signal is processed by the antenna amp and then on is part of the MOST system which is not cheaply hackable.. i cant see away of introducing the freeview signal into this system.. ... - .- -.

That is the problem Stan but If you can turn the signal back to analogue between the Aerials and the reciever you have a chance and it gets round the audio issue because the car is just looking at one channel? like a tv with a freeview box at home? Mine was a blue one! |
