Annoying BlueTooth Conundrum

This is very annoying. Got a FFFRR Vogue MY10 and when I pair an iPhone 3GS to it for Bluetooth it works just fine, the name of the connection (within the iPhone) is LAND ROVER. Works a treat. Very Happy

But when I jump into the company tractor – a Disco3 MY08 - the pairing process states connect to LAND ROVER………………………… wait for it……………………… you guessed it……………….. the phone will not pair because it states LAND ROVER exists – but it is a different MAC address (or whatever the signature is) and therefore the connection cannot be made. Sad

Cannot rename car from LAND ROVER (neither of them) Sad ………..... cannot change name of any BlueTooth connection within iPhone (done some Googling and this is a no no). Sad

Only option is to delete the pairing and make a new pairing in the D3. Evil or Very Mad

But then have to make a new pairing when you back into the Vogue…………… every damn time. Evil or Very Mad

Unless someone knows differently? Beg, grovel!! Bow down Currently running FFRR MY10 TDV8 3.6L and a Disco 3 XS Commercial (tank like but very effective as a Company van). Plus one mint condition Track Day Car in the form of an E36 M3 3.2L Evolution circa June 1996 with lots of go faster bits and only 52k miles on the clock! Oh, plus a few bits to make it slow down really quickly as well! Luvverly.

That's a Iphone prob.

Both a blackberry and a motorola worked fine in the RR and in the loaner freewilly.
Both with a 2121 code and the Land rover name.

Yes, i'm afraid that that is yet another limitation of the iPhone. I have an HD2, and it pairs properly with both our cars.

I have a Sony ericsson and I can rename the connection, hence I have had 2 land rover ones but call one differently. Now I have sold the older bus though its not an issue.

The more I hear about iPhones the less I want one even though the iTouch seems SO bloody handy! Discovery 4 HSE
