HVAC ECU Logic

In the never ending quest to know everything there is to know about my car and the fact that the HVAC seems to have a mind of its own I want to understand it's logic.

RAVE is a bit sketchy and just says things like "the hvac ecu uses complicated magic to make everything work"

Anyone happen to know of a detailed description of the HVAC ECU itself along with it's interaction with the other systems?
