What did you buy?

Nowt yet, thinking of getting rid once I get the injectors sorted. It's one of these things where i'm getting different information from all over the place. Replace all 6, just replace 1, replace 4, don't re-furb as we've have a bad experience of this etc.etc.etc.
I just don't know what to do. Completely outside my knowledge.Everyone says to fix it & get rid, well, what if the car runs great for the next few years with nothing major going bang? Love the car but when do you give in and say enough is enough?
There's certainly no way i'm forking out £2.5k. Just had to spend that on a new boiler for the house, savings depleted, so my choices are somewhat restricted. Local diesel specialist can put all injectors through a proper bench test and re-build if necessary but your still looking at £125 + time per injector. So am I better to just go for Bosch OEM? Found them online for not too bad a price.Decisions, decisions.

If a specialist can refurb and give a warranty that's what I would go for

As per the subject, If the garage is getting spurious readings from different injectors intermittently it is not unheard of for the injector loom to become damaged due to heat and vibration ect.

Its worth a check before shelling out on new injectors.

Picked the car up yesterday after having 4 injectors replaced , and wow, it's like a completely different car. Starts on the button like never before, still sore after the bill, but Dan came through with a price match of the cheapest online price for Bosch injectors, cheers mate!
That was one week without the car, had been running around in the old dear's CRV, which was ok, but manual gearboxes are so over-rated! You forget just how big the ffrr is!
So we have decided the rr has a stay of execution, here's hoping no big bills in the foreseeable future, mind you, you can get quite nice a8,7 series, phaetons etc. very cheaply these days.
Anyone needing an Indy in central Scotland, I can recommend strathearn engineering in Aberuthven , great service, even better labour rates @£38+vat per hour.
I will be getting 2 of the old injectors refurbed so I have them spare if need be. If anyone is thinking their td6 might need new ones, I would happily give you one of my old ones that you can get refurbed locally to save your car being off road for a few days.
Anyway, having a skive today, I think a nice wee run to st.andrews for lunch is in order!
