Just don't know whether to take base back or just go with the 'bit of wood' trick!

We have two different type of car seats that are used in the FFRR, neither use Isofix and to be honest I don't like the system very much after using it in another car. Besides the "main" seat for our daughter can't be ordered in Isofix anyway and since it tested as the best seat on the market at the time, we went for that one.

Both our seats use the seatbelts. The super duper seat (Kiddy Comfort Pro) uses the seatbelt to hold the child in with a special "cushion/bracket" that is supposed to work better than a harness. The "second" seat (that we don't use a lot, although we use it daily in the rental car we have here in South Africa) is also seatbelt operated but has a harness (so the seatbelt stays on it all the time). Both seats are suitable up to 5 years of age (they extend up and out).

Coming back on the Isofix system, I suggest to go for the best seat you can find according to reputable tests (in Holland ANWB and Consumentenbond) and go for that, with or without Isofix. Safety is the most important to us and convenience is second.

On the eating and drinking in the car, I hate it. My wife does not mind (so in her car things are less pristine then in the FFRR). I don't see any reason for the kid to eat and drink (apart from some water maybe). Even on longer trips, you can always stop, take them out, let them run around a bit and eat and drink. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Grandchildren are messy little creatures, they should not be placed in FFRRs

Best thing is the grey seat base and back type covers, or just an old rug on the bottom and over the back of the seats as a nipper will invaribly through up in the back of the car at some point before you can pull over in time. Happened in my activa twice though i think the motion sickness was more of a factor as not leaning in the corners unsettles a lot of people!!

Always took seats out when i could, especially the none booster types that pull hard into the seat via the seat as the squash the squad a bit and after af ew hours takes a while to raise back up again... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
