England 2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Adriatic Blue
Electric steering not working.

Hi every one, since disconecting the battery for something else the steering electrics have not worked, nor has the memrey button on the drivers seat. any one any ideas?

yes foot well lights are working, dont know about the transport mode.not a sat nav car and it does not have its own stereo in, ( information button stopped working) put my own stereo in. Do i need to get it put on a computer to check transport mode?.

Make sure when you re-connect it you dont dab the battery terminal on and off several times... Try and re-connect in one movement...

Half an hour should do you. On reconnection start the car and turn steering wheel lock to lock to clear all dash faults (may need a little drive about too) .

Ok have disconected the battery for 30 mins but the electric steering still wont wont work/or seat memory. Do i need to have it put on a laptop to check for a fault ect.

Um, fuses ?

From handbook:
Fuse 20 covers both Drivers seat and Steering column,
Fuse 23 Steering Column,
Fuse 29 Heated Steering Wheel,
Fuse 21 Passenger Seat,
Fuse 52 heated seats front .

The seat electrics still work apart from memory. Fuse 20 ok. Fuse 23 ok.

Stumped ?

What did you do when you disconnected the battery in the first place? Retrace steps, undo what you did, see if that fixes it.

Otherwise it is diagnostics time: RAC AllComms or IIDtool or whatever...... .
