2010 Model FFRR

Called in today to enquire about the 2010 model, asked the sales guy if he had any battery issue's with them, and told me the main problems were down to owners switching on the pre heaters for more than 20 mins at a time which drains the battery quite a lot and also the self deploying steps can cause problems too with the battery .......

Plus a six month waiting time for the 5.0 SC Shocked ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

Heaven forbid owners should use the features on the car that it was BUILT WITH! Censored

What a cop-out. Why don't they just fit dual batteries? Discovery 4 HSE

RRUK: right as usual!

The 8 series BMW had two batteries in 1990!

more gadgets=more power drain... it's not exactly complicated!

Thumbs Up

My pre-heater auto stops after the car is warm - normally about 10-15 minutes so no battery problems.

Plus you cant set it for more than 20 mins can you? I suppose you could just keep pressing the button.... but then you could also leave the lights on on purpose if you were a moron?

So let me get this right......

LR are blaming owners for using features they design ?

Seems a typical car companies reply to a clear design fault! TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

if the battery is OK there is NO problem, and it works perfectly exactly how LR intended. The only thing is in my experience batteries only last approx 2 years if you cane the pre heater and don't do very long runs after its been on

Pre Heater shuts down after 30 mins max.

if your battery is anywhere near not 100% perfect you can expect some issues. Crap in my view. Discovery 4 HSE

i mentioned it on another post, perhaps a deepcycle battery would be better, the batteries that are fitted are not meant to be run heavily down and then bulk recharged on a regular basis.

I use my FBH every day for 10 to 15 minutes and then drive the car for 35 minutes each day to work with headlights, heated seats and steering wheel on, no issues with battery power yet.

I even had enough juice to jump start a Disco 3 with a goosed battery stuck in my lane last night, owners wife had left the ignition on all day charging her blackberry Banging Head

I agree FFRR should have dual batteries, I have had mine go flat leaving the keys in the ignition cleaning the car over a day! I always pull the keys out now Whistle 2018 Range Rover Autobiography
