+1 for the battery.
Either very low charge or u/s.
Caun you persuade anyone round about to jump start the car for you.
Another battery connected to your car should allow you to turn the key.

Crumbs muck etc gets into the ignition barrel, you could try blowing it out with an airline

I had this problem with the key and a few places couldn't solve it. Believe it or not the previous owner had spilt coke over the console and barrel etc. and it had never been thoroughly cleaned up causing a sticky film over connections. I had took it to places and they put all the machines on to tell the problems but there isn't a traceability setting for spilt coke so sometimes its not the obvious. Cost me hundreds to not solve it but only £50 charged to clean it up properly. No problem since........fingers crossed! Once a Blue, Always a Blue

Pete
Is it all three brake lights or just the high one? Might be a relay sticking. Have you hot rave to look at the wiring diagrams? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Can anyone confirm that when a brake switch is disconnected as to whether the brake lights should be on or off?
