front speaker probs

wonder if anyone could help,,

the front mid range, tweeters and centre speaker on dash have no sound coming from them.

the bottom speakers on the front doors are very muted,

i think i may have a broken wire somewhere,,

so where should i be looking first?

is it a case of getting the door card off and having a good poke about

a point in the right direction or any help would be great

cheers scotty

hi all

just changed my drivers lower speaker after the small centre disk (on the speaker) develped a split the up shot of this is it caused a feedback loop and created a realy loud buzzing from the main centre dash board speaker and very muffed sound from the rest of the speakers. (not good on the m25 Censored ) at some stage te whole sound went off as well. as the rip got bigger the noise did go and the speaker sounded very distorted.

all changed now got a new one from fleabay and fitted it no probs however it was very base orientated and not musch else (panic set in as i thought i had been ripped off ) i compared it with the other side door and it was exactly the same so i have put i down to being normal for my basic non sat nav system and when all the speakers are turned up the sound is good we;ll at least to my tone deafness

i would take the card off and do as you have sugested and check you conections Thumbs Up 02 Range Rover HSE Zambezie silver 4.4

if you had one speaker not working or sounding bad it may be down to a broken wire but to have a few speakers not working i would check you multi plug on the amp, with a good wiring diagramit would show where your connectors are and you could meter out the wires to see if you have any breaks, V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

whipped the door cards off today and my problem was down to a burst mid range speaker on the passenger door.

so i need a speaker if anyone has one lying around,

on the back of the speaker it says

XQM 000250
6911 605
made in uk
071-2-K-D

if someone could shed some light on what all that gumf means that would be great

update,,

got the new speaker today, its the passenger side mid range.

there are two connections that go into it, when i plug the two of them in the other mid range, tweeters and centre speaker go off.

with only one of the connections in they all work but the new speaker sounds terrible,,

so i recon that i have a broken cable on one of the conection.

my question is, what route do the speaker cables run once they go through the door and into the bodywork?

i am going to change the cd changer at the weekend so will have that side of the dash stripped, am i going to see the speaker cables in there somewhere.

if anyone has any thought s that would be great

thanks again

cheers scotty
