Sorry - enjoyed it.

As expected it was more Defender and Disco stuff, but tons of tool stalls and parts to be had, LR Clothing at a discount and some pretty tasty Defenders on show.

I didn't see many Land Rover "demos" such as the axle twister etc in the showground area, which was a bit disappointing.

Plenty to see though.

If you go, at the entrance, don't assume the cars in front of you are queing to speak to a lady who is trying to flog you a magazine, so pull out of the queue and carry on - as they will chase you down the car park and explain that you have to pay to get in Rolling with laughter

I said I thought there would be turnstiles and you'd pay after you parked.....wrong.

It was like a scene from Police Camera Bonehead ! 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Ha your lucky! My wife occasionally let's me drive MY rangie, although she likes to refer to it as hers, even though she was dead against me buying it because 'it's far too big' for her to drive

Cleaned and polished 2 cars, the wife's FL2 and my FFRR, only to find that my FFRR has more scratches & stone chips at only 14 months old than the wife's FL2 which is just over 5 years old Shocked Censored

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged Supercharged Java Black

Went to Penrith from Leeds for the Lowther Game Show, was a 250 mile round trip and didn't even feel it! Driving in and out of the show there were loads of normal cars pretty much rattling off the bump stops. Couldn't resist the temptation to blast past through the field (Top Gear style) to ensure a good car parking space and to get out without crawling over a gravel path at sub-5mph speeds Thumbs Up

I finally fitted my Intravee! And amazingly it all works thanks to a pair of pliers and a friendly local scrap yard with a 3 series containing the elusive 3 and 6 pin connectors. Best £1 I ever spent Very Happy

Highlight of the day for me was this quote:

"If Labradors are said to be born half trained, then Spaniels are said to die half trained"

This was shortly before the spaniel went mental and ran off Smile

I went to drop my car off today for a few little warranty things to be fixed. And on the way, some lunatic dropped a rock on me from a bridge over the M3. Shocked

Luckily it just chipped the windscreen and bounced off - it might've damaged the paintwork on the A pillar as well, I couldn't see any damage but I'll have a proper look when I get the car back.

In the meantime, I'm driving round in a Freelander 2. I always said I wouldn't buy one of these because I tried an original Freelander a few years ago and I didn't like it! It's definitely better now, but I still don't like it. Been spoilt by my Rangie. Laughing

I had a FL2 as a loan and although it was a HSE so well appointed etc, it still felt like driving an ordinary car, sprung suspension and 4 cylinder diesel. However on the recent Land Rover Experience day I went on, it seemed to be very capable off road. Nice, just not for me...
Had it, loved it!

My sentiments entirely. It feels just like a whopping great car. I must admit, though, I'm not too keen on the steering - it's a bit light. And my son hates it - he's been spoilt by the home comforts of the Rangie and finds the seats hard and uncomfortable, not to mention the boring headrests with no telly in. Laughing

I've just got off the phone to the dealership. The car went in to have a small gearbox leak fixed under warranty, plus a few minor bits and pieces. The gearbox leak was supposed to have been fixed before I took delivery, but evidently more than just a change of gasket was required. They've found that the leak was more extensive than they first thought, so they're going to strip down the gearbox, clean it all out and replace any bits that need to be replaced.

Also, I've seen the "suspension raising slowly" message a couple of times over the last three months, so I asked them to check the compressor while they had the car there. I don't know if they've checked it, but they've decided they're going to replace the compressor under the warranty as well.

They're also going to fix the lumbar support switch for me - it disappears into the seat when you press it, which is a tad inconvenient. And a few other tiny, nitpicky things that are just cosmetic - I'd fix them myself when I have time, but they've got the car so they may as well do them for me and be done with it!

I'm getting my car back on Thursday morning unless they find something big wrong with the gearbox, so I'll report back then. If they've done a good job, I'll let you all know. But initial indications appear to be good - they've checked everything I've asked for and suggested reasonable solutions. Smile
