Splitting headlights

I want to paint the inside of the headlights black on my 03 L322, is it possible slit the headlight and get access to the inside? Searches have revealed nothing but I'm sure I have seen pictures of it done? Has anyone got a step by step or a link?

Also, is it possible to split the rear light units?

Edit : oh, you have 03, simple as 1, 2, 3 : unclip the glass part, pull away, this is dead easy.

Voilà :

Beware though, result are not terrific on this generation of lights.

Rear ones : you must Dremel them out as they are hard glued. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolÎžÎžÎžÎžÎžÎžÎžloO:l

so, if I go ahead and dremel the rear units open, suggestions for re-sealing them??
