lesson learned when jacking up rr

Well, I had the wheel off yesterday inorder to un seize my caliper, and as I was initially tightening the wheelnuts, while still jacked up prior to torquing them when on the ground, I managed to rock the car off the jack. I had just removed the axel stand and tools from under the car, but very luck nothing else was under it. I.e. a hand or foot. The jack was bent and twisted, but no other damage luckily.

Moral of the storey, use the chocks that are supplied in the boot!

To that end, whilst I am on here.... WANTED! L322 jack and handle . Can pay via PayPal.

Many thanks folks MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

Get a good one with high lift and at least 2 tonnes capacity as my halford 2 tone trolley jack had not enough lift to get the wheel clear of the ground!
I tried to use wood blocks on the jack but had to admit defeat and use the original jack provided as the operation became too dangerous with the trolley jack and the wood blocks.

My first attempt at using the supplied jack was shortly followed by a visit to the tip to get rid of it. Pointless piece of kit.

Costco do a great low-level three-ton trolley jack for about £80 which has made a fine replacement. Bow down 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

Managed to swap all 4 wheels with mine without dropping the car as my halfords trolley was too small.

Talking about this crap Jack.
I recently bought a new rubber strap and I'm Censored if I can work out how to attach the rubber strap to the jack to hold it in place?

Can anyone help by explaining or - even better, and image?!

Have you tried the B&Q bottle jack, does it have enough lift?
