Brake discs and pads

Newbie here Very Happy

I have done my own brakes for a while now so have a broad idea of what I am doing but this will be the first time I have done the RR. Does anyone had any tips / advice on doing the front ones on a FFRR SC as the devil is always in the detail when doing these sorts of jobs? Any pointers to an online instructional would be great too as I don't seem to be able to find one.

I have tried to avoid the ultimate newbie crime of reposting and have done a reasonable search but can't find anything.

Thanks in advance

RSE

I've got a 2005 SC. I can't imagine it's that difficult but always good to have some pics!

dont forget to clamp the rubber hose with the correect tool , then undo your bleed nipple befour you squeeze the pistons back and squeeze the fluid into a suitable container as a lot of cars can be damaged when you push the fluid back into the reservoir keep it flowing the one way guys when all bvack together quick bleed of the front brakes and your sorted as youll have removed any air in the calipers , youll have removed any moisture in the fluid and lubed your bleed nipples Thumbs Up

this is very rough guidlines not complete step by step Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover

Right, I did mine today front and rear and it was easy.

Fronts- wheels off, look at the rear of the caliper and you'll see two 16mm bolts. These hold the caliper on. Remove them and take off complete caliper. You can then replace the pads easily. The disc is held on by a small Allen bolt which came out easy on mine.
My fronts were badly worn and I had to replace the wear indicator (euro car parts £12.50)-I only found out today that there's only one on the front, so I'll need to take the other one back for a refund!
Refitting is simply a reverse of the above.

Rears- pretty much the same as the fronts, apart from the handbrake shoes inside the rear disc. move the disc so that the adjuster hole is at the bottom and using A screwdriver to flick the adjuster, release the shoes enough to allow removal of the disc (see handbrake adjustment thread)
again, refitting is a reverse of removal. Total time - 3 hrs with tea breaks, chatting, clean-up etc. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
