I have been searching high and low for part numbers and rough prices for the key parts needed to convert my 2004/5 pre facelift Range Rover to the newer 2010 style front end and nobody seems to have compiled a list yet.
WASHER RESERVOIR TANK UPGRADE For 2002-2006 cars the water tank is different and has a weaker pump system due to it having wipers. On the newer models without the wipers the jets are more powerful. I'm guessing you only need to change the tank and pumps. Correct me if I am wrong. I have provided the part list for the tank, pumps sensor etc. You might be able to reuse some fixings and maybe the sensor. It is now an MOT requirement for headlight washers to work so it is important that this is not skipped but I do believe some members on here have kept the old system which will work but not as a powerful jet. Water Reservoir Tank DMB500170 24.55 +VAT Pump DMC500020 20+VAT to supply windscreen jets Pump DMC500040 26.69+VAT each need 2 (supply bumper jets) Washer pump gromet AFU4506 1.79 +VAT need 3 to link pumps to tank Tank Sensor DMI000010 21.45+VAT (might be able to use the old one) Screws WYP000010 25p +VAT each need 2 to fix tank in place (can reuse the old ones) Here is the Microcat diagram showing the pump system. If you have a 2006-2009 car then you system should be the same as the 2010 onwards system.
Here is the washer jet diagram
REAR LIGHT CONVERSION The 2010/2012 cars have LED rear lights which are much lighter units than the old ones. You will need to remove the old lights and potentially drill two new holes for new washers that the new lights will slot into. REAR LIGHT RESISTOR MODULE Depending on the year of your car it may or may not need a resistor to prevent flickering of the lights as your car ECU tests the bulbs, high speed indicator and fog light issues. If your car continues to flicker the lights and or the indicator works in high speed or your rear fog light is always on then you will also need to get new connectors and a resistor module to correct the issues. You might be able to fit them without drilling new holes, but the fit might not be as tight. Lights can be bought on the bay for about 300-350 a pair (2012 black versions). The IID tool will be able to switch off the LCM checking (hot and cold monitoring) which should stop the flickering, but I am not sure it will cure all issues like double speed indicator flashing. Another thing to do is to change the bolts that fix the rear lights in place. The newer bolts from Land Rover have a round casing which prevents thieves being able to steep the lights. This seems to be a common theft issue and for few pounds it gives peace of mind. The M6 handle screws are part number: FYP106392 and cost about 40p each. You will need 4, 2 per side. I will add and amend the list as I go on. I agree it is odd that prices for the headlamps seem to be different. You can check the prices using the part numbers on famousfour, paddocks or britpart etc. There have been a few replacement part numbers as newer models are released and I will be checking what the differences are. Some lights have silver lower reflectors (for turning lights) at the front, others don't (see photo below). The newer ones have black plastic rather than dark grey, some are adaptive, others not. I need to get the part number for the 2012 black edition non adaptive lights with the silver lower reflectors.

Just out of interest, have you tried asking Dan how much he could do the full list / kit for? |

I've not asked Dan for the full kit but I have asked for prices for some bits and I don't think he is able to match some of the online prices. I don't think that there is a single best supplier as some dealers offer some parts cheaper on some and more expensive on others. It is worth shopping around for the parts over 20. Tom

I bought a kit from one of the conversion companies "darn Sarf" and paid 2300 inc. VAT. This did not include rear lights, nor the newer crash bar which cost me 149 from LR. The kit did include the light adapter boxes (150 if bought separately). Try this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-2010...564b715c3b - which is the full package including resistor boxes 2495+ VAT = 3000. Fitting extra, obviously but at least you know everything is there! |

There are a few companies selling the whole kit, and depending on what you can find at the breakers etc it might be an easier option. The prices in my list are for new. But so far I have collected a few bits and bobs at well below these prices as used or 'removed off showroom car" so should be able to get all parts needed with a mix of used and new for just below the 2k figure all in. The other benefit is that I don't have to shell out in one go, I have been collecting for months so it hits the wallet in a more balanced way.
