I called Timpsons Head ofice and explained I wished to have a blank cut at my own risk at a local branch, customer service was very helpful, contacted the branch and they agreed to cut it for me at my risk.

Dave, you're right about the blade, if cut too short it rubs. Mine is only just clear. Still can't use it to open and close the doors though, despite the fact that I have it on the North American frequency. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

sounds like you need to let it charge up with the engine running with it in the ignition, at least 2 hours, then follow daves programming steps. Current vehicles

i have my new flip key all cut and assembled, programmed it in the car and it opens and closes the doors fine but wont start the car, i have put the original transponder from my old spare key into the new flip key - the car starts fine with my original old style key and if i then try and attempt to start the car with the flip key it works and starts the car fine but if i try and start the car with the flip key after opening the car with it, it will not start?? any ideas??

The transponder ship is very sensitive and needs to be as close to the edge of the fob as possible, even a few mm difference cause the car to lock up if not in the right position. There should be a slot to perfectly match the transponder chip and keep it in place on the fob under the rubber inlay.

the chip is also directional, so ensure you fit it in exactly the same orentation as the original key, you can prove it by just holding the chip near the ingnition hole area, you will hear the unlock of the barrel to allow turning.

I had to remove the support that acts as the stop for the slot for the land rover shaped one under the rubber inner slave.

do you mean timpson the key cutting shops? it is starting to look like the new flip key has some how fried my original transponder chip as it wont even work back in the original landrover key anymore (it worked perfectly this afternoon no problems)
