Dealer has now offered a measly £31000 p/x after they damaged my 2 1/2 year old RRS with 22k on the clock that was immaculate - £58000 to buy a new one with same spec or £47000 for a 12 month old Vogue Shocked

Most expensive Censored service I have ever had Evil or Very Mad

Muddy, not that it's any of my business but bear in mind that the garage are probably paying for this out of their pockets as most large main dealers carry an excess on insurance of £50.000 upwards...

i.e. my local main agent had two Defenders nicked and the excess was higher than the value of the loss!

I found this when a main dealer who will remain nameless left my RR outside and the wheels and front bumper were stolen and they had to pay to put it right...

So all im saying is, look at it for what it is! Understanding both sides of the case may give you another angle to help you. Also remember you are probably now the dealer principles biggest pain in the arse , as he has to find a way to make you happy...

For what its worth, i would not accept a repair on the RRS as it will be repaired to a minimal budget if the garage are footing the bill... If in fact you do have it repaired i would ask your insurance to deal with it (understanding you will probably pay a higher premium next year) but will get the best repair done on your car... Affecting its worth at trade in time...

Muddy

I have done just over 6,000 miles and averaged just over 20mpg but 2,400 miles were towing 2200kg caravan.

Recent London trip towing averaged 18mpg.

These figures are from actual fill ups, OBC tends to read about 3mpg better.

Have actually seen the OBC reading 35mpg average when cruising at about 75mph with a tail wind.

Thanks to everyone for the replies Bow down

Looks as though I am not going to get a good deal to change so I will have to wait a bit longer for a Full Fat - the revised model next year is looking really tempting Big Cry

Dealer offering to repair, give 2 years extended LR Approved Warranty and no charge for the service last week that brought me to this point Rolling Eyes

Thinking my best option is to keep RRS for a bit longer and try to sell privately - maybe this winter or next and try and get a nearly new Westminster or wait for the new RRS/RR models to filter through Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Thats not a bad deal. What's that worth not including the repair? £2,500? Just insist the repair is done to Land Rover approved standards. I'd be tempted to take that and as you say keep the car for a little longer and you'd be selling it with an approved warranty. Good work.

I'd ask for any service advisories to be completed FoC as a goodwill gesture too, but other than that it seems like a good deal. It does sound like their fault, but not necessarily out of gross negligence or deliberate tomfoolery.

If I could afford a newer one I would get it, you can't beat the class of the king of off and on road vehicles...

Love them or hate them, there is no other 4X4 or other that seems to come close for the money. Tom

Give them a call & say "Sorry, I dropped it off the ramp" I'll have to keep it for a few weeks until repaired ! Laughing Laughing

don't worry mate, time is on your side & with prices quickly going down on the 2011/2012 plates you'll get one no problem.

My TDV8 FFRR dream may be at an end - in fact after the RRS fiasco and now this I may say Censored you JLR Big Cry

First of all bear in mind Similar RRS on autotrader between £36-40K & Mini cost nearly £18k 4 months ago but are now advertised £13.5 to £15K

These are Franchised LR Dealers Evil or Very Mad

First dealer - 2011 TDV8 VOGUE advertised at £47335 but wants £48281 OTR for cash no px
Offered £30k for my 59 plate RRS with 22k miles/2 year 5 month LR warranty + £12k for my 12 plate mini with 2.7k miles/2 year 8 months mini warranty - £6000 to change Mad

Second dealer - 2011 Vogue SE advertised £51844 will take £51k + road tax cash no px
Offered £28k for RRS but when I laughed said he looked up wrong car and it should have been £31k - not interested in a mini - I said goodbye Rolling Eyes
