I would just like to say thank you to SteveMFr and his colleagues. This morning I had a look at the IID Gap Tool website and saw that 2.17 is available so have downloaded and had a play.
1 question though. I see I can adjust settings for the FBH but I have a basic spec HSE without the centre screen and I have removed the factory stereo. How can I drive the FBH or is it an automatic thing that the car decides.

Thanks

Oh yes I do, I've seen it beneath the battery:D
And from what I have read all TD6 have them
And as we are in the middle of winter it would be rather nice to be able to preheat the cabin.

Hi Adrian,
Once the park heat function has been activated, there are 2 potential methods of running the park heater:
- programming a timed start through the Satnav Monitor or the MID radio (unproven AFAIK but should work as it does in BMWs with the same radio). If you've removed the MID radio (how do you set the clock?) you will not be able to program a timer. I have seen pics of aftermarket radio installs with the MID mounted in the glovebox to retain these functions (if your pixels were dead a BMW MID from ebay will work as well).
- remote control activation. This was avail as an option and, depending on the year of the RR, either had the Webast T60 or T90 remote. I don't remember if the 03's had the earlier version - there is a section in the wiki above with info on this IIRC. Otherwise info can be found in threads using the search function. The difference in the RR wiring between the remotes is actually only the shape of the plug for the remote receiver - both will work. The receiver plug has 3 wires - gn/wht, R/?, and Bn. For the FBH to switch on, 12v need to be switched to the gn/wht wire. You can do this with a toggle switch, timer, etc - but be careful not to run the FBH too long or the batt will be dead.

Ah.
Thats a neat idea putting the MID in the glove box, I have extra space since I removed the CD changer. At present when I need to adjust the clock I plug it into the cable that I recessed below the dash top speaker. The MID display is unfortunately missing a few lines so I will look for a BMW unit.

Thanks guys

I must be having a bit of a "thick" day here because I cant find the link on the GAP site to download the new (2.17) software.

Any pointers?
Many Thanks

I am having the same issue, I have unlocked the unit, tested it on the car, then log in to the site but there is no MyGap button.

I have tried Explorer on my PC but does not make any difference. Still missing after reboot..

Just re-read the activation email and it says it will send another email about the update! So I guess it has to be manually updated their end. Tom

All good now. When you buy it and activate it they have to update their customer database to allow you access to the MyGap part of their site. Email arrived this morning and all updated.

The customer service at GAP has been great, they promptly answered my questions despite me not reading the first email properly.

Great tool, already enjoying changing all the settings and clearing the 19 faults. Tom
