that screen is the same as the non-touch screen on the range ...the newer touch screens are different and because the signal travels down the MOST fibre optic cable ,the only way to get a reverse camera working is to connect directly to the rear of the screen and activate on the ccf. ... - .- -.

I'm not entirely convinced Stan. If you look at the install instructions you can see there's a switch setting for OEM and non-OEM cameras. I would guess that the the external camera has no data flow on the MOST bus :-

5 To select car model
ON : Lexus
OFF : Landrover

6 To select original NAVI
ON : For using original NAVI
OFF : Not use original NAVI

7 Rear Mode
ON : External Rear Camera
OFF : OEM Rear Camera Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

getting power from the brake lights means the cam will work when the brakes are applied which isnt ideal.
connect to the reverse lights and the cam will come on when you need it, when you're reversing....

I finally connected up my reverse camera today (checked it was working first and no problems) and then installed. When I spliced into camera wires into the reversing lights, Brown (power) and Wht with yellow stripe (Earth?) coming out of the back of the reversing lap connector, i got a "Check Reversing Lights" error when tried the ignition (and no image).

Pulled it back out and the error went away. Plugged camera into the 12V jump started and it works well.

Any ideas why id get an error splicing into the Reverse lights?
More importantly what else could I use to get power from (preferably something in the tailgate that has power all the time)? L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

I would suspect you're getting the error because the LCM will be checking the impedance/resistance of the reverse circuit and when you add something in, this value changes, hence the error.

have you done anything else besides wire up a +12v feed from the reverse lights? There's a bit more to it to get an image on the screen.

taking power from the reverse lights shouldn't cause errors, to be sure take a bulb out when trying..

you do need to switch on the reverse camera on the cars CCF...i believe the IIDTool does this but double check with steve [GAP diagnostics].. ... - .- -.

You can turn the cam on using Steve's, but you must have the correct firmware for the front entertainment module.

I've connected a camera but now I need the firmware update.

The image and screen work fine (I have a black box for that already installed), it switches to the cam when going into reverse.

Back to power: I've temporarily plugged its power cables into a seperate 12V jump starter battery, the image comes up on the screen fine when I select reverse Or when I go into the 753 menu.

I just cant get it to work when I try and draw power from the car.....
ON the impedance/resistance, good point, How have others done it then? L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

I love that idea Stan thanks, I had the same thought and pulled it out, but it has three cables behind it and I didnt know which was which. Didnt want to blow up my house.

Im guessing Red goes to Brown, but can anyone tell me which colour I should attach my Black camera ground cable to on the 12v accessory port?

i've looked on rave and cant figure out which wire is which tbh...one point though, i'm not sure if the ciggy socket is on the ignition, if its a permanent feed then you might drain the battery ..

another alternative is to get one of those spade fuse taps of ebay , plug it into an un-used ignition feed and run the wire to the back..
