There's a list of appropriate BMW part #'s for TV tuners floating around the forum. I've posted it more than once and others have posted it as well.

What years of E39 were they in, and where were they hidden? I'm starting to see E39s popping up in my local scrappy now, and anything that's not metal is either a fiver or free. ![]() |

The E39 was built till 04. But I assume that TV tuners are not going to be very common in the UK as they aren't in the Mutterland of BMW. And if you can find one from a scrapyard, you'd have to find an idiot of a scrapyard owner too or you'll likely pay more than on ebay - which is where I'd look primarily. If you're feeling adventurous, try ebay.de. They used to be somewhat cheaper there (I haven't looked in a while).

Harsh. My local scrappy works on the low profit, high turnover model. If you pay 100 quid for every car that comes through the gates, charge a tenner for a battery/alternator/starter and between fifty and a hundred for an engine, you can afford to be fairly blase about trim bits, stereos and the like as you're pretty much in profit from the start. |

A BMW forum seems to suggest that cars from a 54 plate have digital TV. Though some say 2005...........The screen will have to be like ours, as I mentioned above, and I'm not sure when they changed systems ;

is it really worth the expense of having a tv working in your range....for £500, you could buy a decent big screen telly for home...i cant see the attraction of it tbh.. ... - .- -.

Have to agree with Stan on this...I have TV in mine as standard and unless you are in a decent reception area you get very few channels, If it were an option it's one I would avoid |

Admittedly, the "OEM" route is not the cheapest, but is fully integrated.........I paid £150 from a friendly car dealer, who owed me a favour.
