Hi

I have an annoying bass vibration coming from the rear.

I have had this before and found that one of the bolts had come loose making the washer rattle - this one was easy as it is accessible by taking the access panel of to the DVD , electronic system.

This one however is on the otherside of the subwoofer behind the fixed carpetted panel.

Ive had a look and even by removing the "eye fixing" bolt on the boot floor , retaining plastic stopper (underneath the pull up spare wheel panel) , it is impossible to remove the side panel.

The side panel is partially retained by the parcel shelf runner plastics.

Anyone know how to do this? CURRENT : FFRR 2012 4.4 TDV8

go in via the passenger door rear, pull the upholstered trim up at an angle as it has pushin clips and an hook retainer in the side panel to keep it in tight to the side bulk head, it will not come completely of as it is fix at the top.

you should be able to with a small ratcket and the correct socket attached feel your way to the bolt head and tighten it, i did and I am not the smallest bloke in the world!!

Trying that , i assume you mean the leather wrapped panel next to the rear seat?

Cant seem to move it , do you have to put the rear seat down and get your hands behind the trim there? CURRENT : FFRR 2012 4.4 TDV8

fold seats , yes, remove entry plate, lower rear plastic arch cover, this allows you good leverage to pull up and out on the panel you mentioned,

floor alliminum carpet edge plate, give good even pull upwards as its held in with 2 push fit clips, carefull when removed as these slide and you need to realign for reinstall, to the sockets in the floor, thats it.

my current wiring project from the intravee has made me find the easiest path for wiring etc, and thats what I did!!


cheers, rattle free for another 5000 miles!!! if your lucky, I have a rattle to fix in my sunroof area passenger side!!!, to scared to go near it so far though!!!!

think its either a mounting nut/washer or the wiring to the central light system, I'll get time to get near it some day, even bought new sunroof runners just in case!!.

seams to be it could be that,

any one any history of a roof rattle????

Just gone for a spin and now the subwoofer isnt working!!

I did have the sound system on whilst i was testing the vibration without the car running.

Could the battery have run down enough for the car to turn the amplifier off? Can this happen?

I didnt tamper with any wires whilst i was fixing the initial problem

Have you checked the fuse for the sub? Just a thought.

Any chance you severed some wiring in the dismantling? Discovery 4 HSE
