Mine some times give up and then come back after a re-boot seems to be if you select reverse too soon after starting the engine. Once happened after heavy rain as well but al is OK now. 2008 MY Supercharged

When a sensor goes wrong the system gives an auditory beep to alert the driver. Simple way to check is to switch ignition on, put sensors on and get someone to put a hand in front of each sensor at a time, then you'll know which one is duff.

Axle - yes you are very correct - putting it into reverse as soon as you start up has caused quite a few issues - one in particular was the suspension problem i had on Wednesday where the ride height was set on access mode.
