I connected my camera to bench power supply and the video out lead to an oscilloscope and wiggled, tapped and twisted the PCB and the components soldered to it. I had suspected a dry joint on the main loom connector, but applying pressure and wiggling it had no affect. However applying pressure the camera lens caused the video signal to stop, and the power consumption to drop by 5mA.

My 2010 rear view camera is working, the picture is much improved and the reverse lines are really nice, apart from the fact that they are pointing towards the off side

I popped into the local LR dealership armed with a tape measure this lunch time, and I can confirm that the rear view camera has moved 7 cm to the right.

How comes you needed a new wiring loom and housing. You seemed to remove the old loom without any damage. Is the 2012 camera wired differently ? FFRR Virgin |

Yes, the 2010 camera only has a plug and no wires are attached or are supplied with it. The connector is different from the loom in your vehicle.

+1 also the camera bracket is a different shape and the new cam won't fit the old bracket |

Justin, when i put my first one in i put some small shims in (quite alot i think from memory) until the picture lines were perfect... I then put black mastic/bonding glue down the two sides to fill the imperfections/gaps and voila perfect... On this car (my second one with the new camera) i purchased a 2010 camera and spoiler off eBay... Much easier! The metal work the camera mounts through is shaped slightly differently, working like my shims did in my original... Craig |

Hi my reverse camera has also broken and I have replaced a blown component however when I removed the loom I didn't make a note of what way round the plug went (pleb) and can be plugged incorrectly don't suppose you have a clearer pic of the plug connected? Can't quite make out from your pic what way round it goes!
