Auxiliary ventilation & remote control

Hi,

I know you can set the auxiliary ventilation up on the screen in the car to come on at different times, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if the remote control also turns on the fans, or does it just work the fuel burning heater.

It would be nice to be able to push the button on the way out to the car and have it vent out, but I don't really want to fire up the fbh!

Andy

It only works the FBH. Got to set the timer.

on my TDV8 it depends on the ambient temperature, if it is warm (I think like 16 degrees or more, but am sure a more learned member will correct this if necessary) the fans start but the FBH doesn't, below this temperature point then the remote activates the FBH as well. No manual override the car decides itself Thumbs Up

What Simon1233 said.
Remote activates fans if ambient temp above 16c and FBH if below, according to handbook. (2007MY)

Thanks again.

Ours is a 2006 so it may be slightly different and the handbook doesn't say anything much about the remote!

I also remember reading something about pressing the two remote buttons together which changes the mode from FBH to fans only.
This is likely to be a thread on this forum.
Maybe someone could elaborate?
Try a forum search for 'FBH' ?

Just checked mine and with 23*C outside the remote starts FBH and heats inside car. Tried changing remote function as Dave's post and didn't work for me.

Using timer on touchscreen timed or manual just starts fans to ventilate.

i think that the T90 bigger older remote will work both and you can press both buttons and change from hot to cold, the light also changes from red to green.

but the newer smaller T91 remote only does the hot thing!!

yet again not 100% but will check things out. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

well i just ran out to the car, still mega warm up here in sunny yorkshire and the T91 remote just started the fans without the FBH coming on.

so i guess as stated it makes its own mind up about if it needs hot or cold air turning on, where as the with the T90 remote you need to switch between the two via the buttons.

hope everyone is as thoroughly confused as me know!!.. Shocked Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

I have both T90 and T91 remotes. I cannot change the program on the T90 remote by pressing both buttons as previously mentioned in the thread.

My car makes it's own mind up whether to fire up the FBH based on the ambient air temperature when the button on the remote is pressed...
