Hmm I got a strange feeling reading this as I'm 1 month 4 days (2200 miles) into ownership of the same MY / Model as you and feel exactly the same. Even though I had to have a few things fixed at the dealer and an oil service I am still making up excuses to get out and about in my FFRR.

I've had to have the infamous TPMS sorted at the dealer, but other than that, so far so good.

I was always a bit skeptical about the real world difference between a petrol FFRR (I've owned 3) and a diesel, but I think the proof is here :

I'd like to point out that I drove 2100 miles with a dragging rear disc that I didn't notice, my next MPG fuel up should be a lot better. Also it appears that the stealers leave your car running during diagnostics, wheel alignment, tyre changing and servicing as each time it went in it had only covered 4 miles when it came back and had lost nearly 4-5mpg (I guess this means they give them the beans while "testing" them). Still it'll never get close to a diesel, but then again it's faster and doesn't sound like a tractor

Exactly what I used to say I have learned 2 things tho - the speed limits in this country need to be adhered too, and the TDV8 actually sounds like a V8 - moreso than my 5.0SC that I chopped for it..... I'm glad there are some reasons for your mpg AllSeeingPie - your consumption is shocking!

Mines showing 15.3 since buying, but is rising quickly now the brakes are fixed and it's been serviced. Today I got 22 (on trip) compared to a usual 16/17 (on trip) driving 35 miles with about 30% of that in rush hour traffic (not standstill but a little bit stop-start).

Fuel computer is usually about 2mpg ish over real world, it's not helped by the fact it doesn't remember back more than about 1000ish miles, hence you can be driving with it on, get a nice MPG, look away and notice it has dropped for no good reason!

Well we love ours too. It even amuses us when complete strangers mutter things about "Posh B*stards" under their breath as they walk by.
