I LOVE my FFRR...

That is all.

I'm a month in to ownership and I love it. I really do.

I live in Surrey and have already had to hack up to Bolton and back and Leominster and back in a day for meetings. The FFRR made those journeys not just bearable, but a pleasure.

I love it.

Drove to West Wittering on the coast this weekend with the dog, the wife and a car full of picnic clobber. It swallowed the lot no problem and then carried us in air conditioned absolute luxury to and from our destination.

I love it.

And it makes me smile every time I get in it.

I love it.

Yes, it's a bit thirsty but that (almost) adds to the charm of the hulking great limo. "Feed me massive amounts of fuel and I'll carry you everywhere in complete luxury, comfort, style and safety". Seems like a fair deal to me. Bow down Bow down

Did I mention that I love it? Whistle Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Hmm I got a strange feeling reading this as I'm 1 month 4 days (2200 miles) into ownership of the same MY / Model as you and feel exactly the same. Even though I had to have a few things fixed at the dealer and an oil service I am still making up excuses to get out and about in my FFRR.

I've had to have the infamous TPMS sorted at the dealer, but other than that, so far so good.

I think I've probably done about the same mileage as you too.

Glad it's not just me. Sigh.... Embarassed Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

I was always a bit skeptical about the real world difference between a petrol FFRR (I've owned 3) and a diesel, but I think the proof is here :

AllseeingPie fuelly :

All time best miles/fuel up : 269
Miles tracked : 2183
Total fillups : 10
Total spent : £1,093.57
Average price per mile : £0.436

My fuelly :

All time best miles/fuel up : 562
Miles tracked : 4040
Total fillups : 10
Total spent : 1,190.48
Average price per mile : £0.268

I think I am now a firm convert Thumbs Up

Oh and I love my FFRR too!! Land Rover Addict

I'd like to point out that I drove 2100 miles with a dragging rear disc that I didn't notice, my next MPG fuel up should be a lot better. Also it appears that the stealers leave your car running during diagnostics, wheel alignment, tyre changing and servicing as each time it went in it had only covered 4 miles when it came back and had lost nearly 4-5mpg (I guess this means they give them the beans while "testing" them). Still it'll never get close to a diesel, but then again it's faster and doesn't sound like a tractor Thumbs Up

Exactly what I used to say Smile

I have learned 2 things tho - the speed limits in this country need to be adhered too, and the TDV8 actually sounds like a V8 - moreso than my 5.0SC that I chopped for it..... Land Rover Addict

I'm glad there are some reasons for your mpg AllSeeingPie - your consumption is shocking!

I've managed 450 miles off a full tank without driving like I've got Miss Daisy in the car. I'm not using fuelly, but my computer is showing 19.6 mpg since I bought the car. I know it won't be 100% accurate, but I'm quite happy with that all things considered. Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

I do like a car that naturally smells nice inside.

All of my cars do, and each are completely different.

The smell (and feel) of my FF's leather is truly, addictively wonderful. Si. <This is my name.

Mines showing 15.3 since buying, but is rising quickly now the brakes are fixed and it's been serviced. Today I got 22 (on trip) compared to a usual 16/17 (on trip) driving 35 miles with about 30% of that in rush hour traffic (not standstill but a little bit stop-start).

I adhere to the speed limits, however I do like to get to that limit quickly and with as much noise as possible. If I could convince the missus to let me go for a 4.4 TDV8 I would have, but I wanted to get the SC first as I've driven a diesel car for the last 5 years when I wanted to be in something more petrol and noisy.

Fuel computer is usually about 2mpg ish over real world, it's not helped by the fact it doesn't remember back more than about 1000ish miles, hence you can be driving with it on, get a nice MPG, look away and notice it has dropped for no good reason!

My 4.2SC usually read about 21mpg, and rarely went as low as 17mpg.

I am enjoying not fuelling up so much (there I said it!) Land Rover Addict

Well we love ours too. It even amuses us when complete strangers mutter things about "Posh B*stards" under their breath as they walk by.

Can't think why. Whistle Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I love the sound of my TDV8, its awesome.
If you do have to give it the beans, like I did today, someone in an MX5 posing with roof down did the; I see you want this exit so i'll speed up, then slow down, then speed up again thing.
After waiting for long enough to think i need to take action - (floor it) the diesel sluice gate opened resulting in a terrific kick-down roar, I believe said MX5 driver actually had an accident right there on the drivers seat.
I made my junction needless to say.
Had it, loved it!
