Can anyone point me to where I can find a gear ratio table for the high and low range gearbox currently in the MY12 4.4 V8 Diesel?

The owners handbook is quite useless, with no mention of ratios in the technical spec chapter.

You can work it out if you drive at, say, 40mph in 6th, read what the RPM is, then repeat in low range. Divide one by the other, and you have the ratio.

The ZF 8HP70 has a ratio spread of 7.05 and the following ratios :

1st = 4.71
2nd = 3.14
3rd = 2.11
4th = 1.67
5th = 1.29
6th = 1.00
7th = 0.84
8th = 0.67
Rev. = -3.32

It’s mated to the same Magna Steyr DD295 transfer box used for the 6-speed transmissions which has a 2.93:1 low range with direct (1:1) high.

I believe that the axle ratio was lengthened from the old 3.54 to 2.76 for the 4.4 TDV8 so, assuming a dynamic tyre rolling radius of 377mm, the maximum overdrive ratio will be 48mph/1000rpm
